Meet the Directors
What do a flight engineer and a guardsman have in common? Seemingly nothing at first glance, but the fusion of these two colourful characters has led to an innovative, forward thinking alliance.
Nick Wren - Managing Director
Formally a flight engineer with Dan Air until 1982, Nick is a sports mad biker who has played hockey at international level and rides his Harley Davidson through the Arizona desert at any available opportunity.
After leaving Dan Air, he formed 'Wren Interiors Limited', a company specialising in luxury penthouse and bank refurbishment's. It was during this time that Nick's interest grew in modular construction techniques, and joined Darchem Building Systems Limited as London Regional Manager to learn more about the system building Industry. This proved a good learning curve for Nick. He saw how the industry worked, and he knew he could do it better.
Whilst at Darchem, he met Andy Hall, a like-minded individual with more than a few ideas of his own on how to improve the industry.
Andy Hall - Operations Director
A former guardsman in the Household Cavalry, Andy is an 'outward bound' person excelling at activities including parachuting and mountain climbing.
Like Nick, Andy is a 'biker' and speedway rider who, when not on the track, likes to take bikes apart. Although putting them back together is apparently not his strong point.
After leaving the Household Cavalry, Andy joined the family's marine salvage business, Charles Hall & Co. Limited. A few years later he purchased the company from his father, and also created an oriental carpet business, called Covent Garden Oriental Carpets Ltd, before eventually selling the company
Andy always had an interest in product design. He joined Darchem Building Systems Limited and was already re-working and re-thinking the concept and design of portable buildings when he met Nick.
