Expandacom – with a difference!
Our good customers at West Minster School have just received their delivery of their new Expandacom buildings. They wanted an outdoor learning room with as much light as possible inside, as the building will not be wired up to the electricity. The building needed to blend in with a new built extension which has just been constructed, and it needed to be good value! With this brief, we came up with the idea of supplying an Expandacom building with full length glazing in the windows and door and had them specially painted in grey to match the new building. At the same time we installed a further two Expandacom buildings, linked end to end to provide valuable secure storage facilities.

Hi Andy, The buildings are absolutely splendid, thank you for your work in installing them and arranging for their delivery etc. They have really added to the school, I am really proud of them! Well done!

Transpak buildings were used for this project, and continue to be the first choice for many camp project managers as they are so adaptable. They can be linked, triple stacked, flatpacked and quickly transported anywhere in the World.

We have removed a lot of our recent news items from this page, as it was getting too large!
In brief, 2011 has been a very busy year for Extraspace this year, with the launch of Expandacom – The U.K’s only flat-packed, man portable, stack-able, linkable cabin. Exports for this product are growing steadily, and we are identifying new markets with a need for this type of building.
We have completed camps in Nigeria and Liberia together with numerous projects in the U.K.
Our association with Kudos Buildings & Ballistic Structures commenced early in the year, and we are now working on various structures for military and disaster relief projects.
Extraspace Worldwide Ltd has increased it’s production of Expanda products in the Ankara factory, and continues to improve the design of the buildings.
Phoenix Building Sytems have had a steady year so far, and continue to manufacture the modular buildings for the U.K market.
All in all, the Extraspace Group has had a good 12 months, but nobody is resting on their laurels here, trading conditions continue to be tough in the U.K, and export will be the way through it!
Workers Accommodation in Sierra Leone

The last few modules for a large accommodation camp are now being loaded onto flatrack containers at our Lingfield Depot bound for Sierra Leone. Extraspace supplied not only the flat packed ‘Transpak’ buildings themselves, but also a full air conditioning system, showers, toilets, sinks and all the associated plumbing in modular form so that minimal work is required on site to commission them.
The £500,000 contract is the third project in Africa we have been involved with this year. The camps in Nigeria and Liberia have now been successfully completed.
Further contracts are expected in Chad, Dubai and Pakistan later in the year.
